What was announced on 12 August

On 12 August the organisers of bauma CHINA 2026 held a press conference in Shanghai and set out the key parameters of the November show. The exhibition will cover a record 400,000 sq m, with almost 4,000 exhibitors expected from more than 30 countries and regions. The Global Buyer Invitation Program for overseas purchasing delegations was launched at the same time. The show's motto runs "New quality, boundless innovation, a shared future".

The press conference was hosted by Evan Sha, President China and CEO of Messe Muenchen Shanghai. Taking part were Messe München chief Stefan Rummel, Su Zimeng, chairman of the China Construction Machinery Association (CCMA), Zhou Weidong, chairman of the Machinery Sub-Council of the China Council for the Promotion of International Trade (CCPIT-MSC), and Wang Chuanming, chairman of China Construction Machinery Co. (CNCMC). Representatives of XCMG and SANY Group were in the audience. According to Rummel, the new format marks an important milestone for bauma CHINA. Su Zimeng promised that exhibitors would show everything from complete machines and key components to new-energy powertrains and digital solutions, and that the show itself would reflect how the Chinese industry is changing and turning ever more towards overseas markets.

Two venues with different dates

bauma CHINA is using the "one show, two venues" format for the first time, and in August the organisers disclosed the figures and the programme. Both venues are in Shanghai's Pudong district, but they run on different schedules:

  • Shanghai New International Expo Centre (SNIEC), 24-27 November. This venue brings together the entire construction machinery chain: large machines, mining equipment and building-materials machinery, construction vehicles, components, drivetrains and hydraulics.
  • Shanghai World Expo Exhibition & Convention Center (SWEECC), 23-26 November. The focus here is on new technologies, industry ecosystems, conferences and live machine demonstrations.

Visitors receive a single badge for both venues, and free shuttles run between them. Guests can use the official WeChat mini-program and an AI-powered help desk. Visitor registration is already open, and tickets on the show's official website are free. For companies that want to exhibit themselves, the organisers are still offering available stands at SWEECC.

Who is coming

Among the foreign participants the organisers named Caterpillar, Wirtgen Group, Komatsu, Fayat Group, Hyundai Doosan Infracore, Skyjack and Ammann. Chinese manufacturers will include XCMG, SANY Group, Zoomlion, Shantui, Lingong (SDLG), LiuGong, Zhejiang Dingli, Lonking, NFLG, Lovol Heavy Industry, Sinoboom, CRCHI and Sunward Intelligent. Some companies will have stands at both venues.

XCMG has taken part in bauma CHINA since 2002 and promises to show a new generation of machines and solutions for specific operating conditions: intelligent, new-energy and designed for "green" construction. Chen Xiaodong, the company's bauma CHINA project lead, called the show an important opportunity to talk directly to customers and the market. SANY Group will occupy almost 10,000 sq m in four zones across both venues and will show construction machinery, intelligent technologies, artificial intelligence solutions and robotics. 2026 is an anniversary year for SANY: the company turns 40.

Business programme and the bet on electrification

The programme's themes are innovation, expansion into overseas markets, electrification, green transformation, mining, digitalisation and intelligent machinery. Planned events include:

  • a conference on construction machinery innovation and a conference on marketing and business matchmaking, both with CCMA;
  • the 2026 conference on electrification and green development of the industry, with CCPIT-MSC;
  • the Global Attachments Forum on attachments, with CNCMC;
  • live machine demonstrations and hands-on remote-control trials.

The organisers backed up the interest in electric machinery with preliminary CCMA statistics for the first half of 2026. Sales of electric wheel loaders rose 82.4% to 25,445 units, and sales of electric excavators rose 129% to 321 machines. Revenue of the association's key members grew 15.5% year on year. According to Chinese customs data compiled by the association, foreign trade in construction machinery reached USD 35.627 billion (up 20.5%), of which exports accounted for USD 34.373 billion (up 21.7%).

How to plan a trip from Kazakhstan

The invitation programme for purchasing delegations targets Southeast Asia, the Middle East, Africa, Europe and the Americas. Central Asia is not on that list, so companies from Kazakhstan are better off arranging their meetings themselves. Within China, partner matchmaking will be handled by industry associations and the show's media partners. Anyone planning a trip should:

  1. register on the official website in advance and get a free ticket;
  2. choose the venue to suit the task: loaders, excavators, mining machinery and components are at SNIEC, while electrification, new technologies and conferences are at SWEECC;
  3. bear in mind that SWEECC opens on 23 November, a day earlier than SNIEC, and also closes a day earlier;
  4. arrange meetings with manufacturers before flying out, so that a single trip lets you compare offers from several brands.

If a November trip does not work out, the bauma network calendar has other dates: bauma SAUDI ARABIA in Riyadh on 8–11 May 2027, M&T Expo in São Paulo on 16–19 November 2027, and the flagship bauma in Munich on 3–9 April 2028.
