XCMG Machinery took part in the full-scale development of China's first satellite for mineral exploration — CUMT Nanhu. The satellite was successfully placed in orbit on 23 July 2023 from the Taiyuan launch site. Equipped with synthetic aperture radar (SAR) and optical and thermal infrared instruments, the satellite is designed for remote sensing of the Earth. It will be used in exploring deposits, monitoring mining activity, warning of geological disasters and restoring the environment at mines. XCMG's participation in this project underlines the company's commitment to bringing advanced technology into the mining industry.
